Flat 10, 8 Quality StreetThe top floor flat of the Imperial Building in Quality Street’s Town Centre location offers uninterrupted views of both Craigleith and the Bass Rock, with the Fife coast also visible on clear days. Through the lounge window views stretch into the distance along (almost) the full length of the high street – ideal for chilling out and doing some "people watching" on one of North Berwick’s rare rainy days.

The reward for negotiating the rise of three flights to the top floor of what was once the Imperial Hotel is a set of spectacular views in three directions, each of which has sea views over the rooftops. Two of the three give complete views of two of the Firth of Forth's most significant volcanic islands, those of Craigleith and the Bass Rock.

For those with heavy loads to carry, don’t worry - any that aren’t required upstairs in the spacious living space can be stored securely in the flat's own ground floor storage room, which has ample space for wet gear, pushchairs, golf clubs and even bikes.

Being at the east end of the High Street, you have a huge range of amenities immediately at hand.  Within a couple of minute’s walk from the Imperial's secure ground floor entry, there is a convenience store, post office, butcher, newsagent, Chinese takeaway, Fish and Chip shop/restaurant, Italian restaurant, delicatessen, bistro, a choice of pubs and a Café/restaurant.

The Lodge Gardens can also be reached within a minute’s walk. This vast expanse of green space offers kids’ play equipment (swings, slides, climbing frames etc.) and well kept, open park land to stretch your legs and entertain the kids with a kick-about. There’s also crazy golf and an aviary.

Two or three minutes more in the opposite direction and at the other end of Quality Street you'll find the Scottish Seabird Centre, built on a rocky penisula, which separates the adjacent east and west beaches.

Five or ten minutes from here, either east or west, takes you to two of North Berwick’s finest golf courses, the Glen Golf Club or the North Berwick Golf Club. The latter also offers a junior Par 3 course, where adults must be accompanied by a junior to play at very reasonable prices.  For details of other local golf courses, see the Golf East Lothian web site.

Nearby Tantallon Castle has spectacular views over the Forth to the Bass Rock and is perched on a cliff top, whilst Dirleton Castle, surrounded by its beautiful gardens, is set in a pretty conservation village just 2 miles outside of North Berwick..
